LAMBDA SIGMA HONOR SOCIETY

Who We Are.

Lambda Sigma Society, a national
honor society for second-year college students,
is dedicated to fostering leadership, scholarship,
fellowship and service among its members as
they promote the interests of the colleges and
universities they represent.
Lambda Sigma Society was founded
as an honor society in 1922 at the University of
Pittsburgh. Since its founding, Lambda Sigma has
become a national organization with more than
forty chapters. Its national heritage is strengthened
through activities associated with an annual
Presidents Conference, which brings presidents
together to share ideas among chapters, including
student engagement and servant leadership.
Lambda Sigma Society has been a member of the
Association of College Honor Societies since 1981.
The official symbol of Lambda Sigma
Society is composed of the Greek letters lambda
and sigma superimposed in gold on a diamond
with a blue field. The letters lambda and sigma
are emblematic of leadership and scholarship.

ALPHA KAPPA

The Alpha Kappa Chapter of Lambda Sigma Honor Society is incredibly active on the campus of Georgia Tech and in the Atlanta area. We combine our individual efforts to tackle the issues that face our campus and city in order to make Georgia Tech a better place to earn a higher education and Atlanta a better place to live for everyone who inhabits it. Alpha Kappa organizes service projects that are close to our hearts and to our home, such as tutoring in nearby schools, and can food drives. We also work with local organizations like Campus Kitchens and Mostly Mutts. The pillars of Lambda Sigma are constantly upheld and exemplified by each member of the Alpha Kappa chapter and we strive to set a precedent for other student led organizations that encourages them to exhibit leadership, scholarship, fellowship and service at their highest capacity.
